Admission Requirements

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN RESPIRATORY CARE

  • 2.5 overall  GPA
  • Completion of Texas core curriculum and program prerequisites with a grade of at least C in all courses
  • Sophomore standing or higher at time of application
  • Completion of all prerequisite courses by the start of the fall semester of Year I of the program
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – International applicants only: minimum scores 560 (paper), 220 (computer-based), 68 (Internet-based)
  • Completed application (Click here for Texas Common Application)
  • $45 application fee
  • Official transcripts sent from each college/university attended
  • Personal interview with department faculty

Advanced Standing in Respiratory Care

Respiratory therapists holding the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) are eligible for advanced standing in the Respiratory Care Program.
