Licensure is not required for dental laboratory technicians (DLT).  However, individuals who have completed an accredited dental laboratory technology program DLT may obtain certification by passing an examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology. Completion of a bachelor's degree is not required for taking the certification examination
